Digital Fridays is a free guide with templates for all of the documents needed to organize weekly peer-to-peer training sessions to jumpstart a newsroom's use of the latest digital journalism tools. Newsrooms can use the Digital Fridays model to showcase and experiment with innovative tools for mapmaking, data journalism, internal communications and other specialized media skills.

Each session accommodates roughly 20 participants, who should come from all parts of the newsroom. The small size is useful for fostering collaborations across departments, locations, hierarchies and even age groups.

ICFJ Knight Fellow Nasr ul Hadi pioneered this training structure with the Hindustan Times but has since worked with a team of ICFJ Fellows in India to expand it to other media partners across the country and beyond.
