This free guide includes templates for all of the documents needed to organize weekly peer-to-peer training sessions, branded as Digital Fridays, to jumpstart your newsroom's use of the latest digital tools. Newsrooms can use the Digital Fridays model to showcase and experiment with innovative tools for map making, data journalism, internal communications and other specialized media skills. Each session can accommodate about 20 participants, who should come from all parts of the newsroom. The small size is useful for fostering new collaborations across departments, locations, hierarchies and even age groups.
ICFJ Knight Fellow Nasr ul Hadi pioneered this training structure with the Hindustan Times but has since worked with our team of Indian Fellows to expand it to other media across the country and beyond.
